
How it started...
Sara Craig served as the Chief Development Officer for CitySquare, where she had the unique experience of helping the organization thoughtfully wind down three months after joining the team. She helped raise funds to assist the organization in a thoughtful, neighbor-centered transition of all programs to other organizations. She remained on the leadership team until the transition was complete.
Sara also served as the Vice President of Development and Communications with Housing Forward, formerly Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance. While at Housing Forward, she successfully led the organization through a complete rebranding and transformation of the mission's internal and external messaging. In this role, Sara helped our unhoused neighbors by educating our community on the causes and solutions for homelessness and helping them find ways to take action while raising needed funds to help ensure all our neighbors have a place to call home.
Before serving at Housing Forward, she spent seven years with Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services, a social work organization serving children and families in need. In this role, she was able to strengthen the fundraising strategy for an organization that spanned three states. She began as the Development Officer for the Dallas area. After an over 20% increase in funds raised over a year, she was promoted to Director of Development and oversaw a team of nine fundraisers across three states. While in this role, she co-planned and executed a multimillion-dollar capital campaign to build a new campus for the organization.
Before joining the nonprofit sector, Sara worked in for-profit sales with various businesses, including Amazon.
